Bwa ha ha ha ha! Oh, Pluto...back when you were still a planet.
They must have been doing something bad; my neighbors and I played in that ditch all the time without "uncalled for" and life-ruining incident. Or maybe my mom was just being weird; who can say??? I WISH I could remember the lyrics to the undoubtedly awesome "C.U.A. Round"!
I kept wondering if it was some 80s love song I'm not familiar with, but research turned up nothing. Your own song??
I assume it was a camp song of some sort, but I am usually really good at remembering stuff like that, and C.U.A. Round is not ringing any bells!
Awesome as usual.
My sister went to Camp Farnsworth, too.
I like the name Farnsworth. It's like some rich lady opened a camp and was like,
Rich lady: "What should I call it, Farnsworth?" Butler: "I couldn't say, madame." Rich lady: "Oh I know! I'll name it after you! Imagine those young ladies running around enjoying the summer sun, never knowing their camp is named after a lowly, pathetic butler. Oh, such gaiety!" Butler: "Very good, madame."
This is my favorite one yet for so, so many reasons - the stunned kids in the ditch, the skid row, the stunned alien dude... SO much to love! This is really tremendous, mister!
(And Dunham's Shoes! It always felt like the dryest air in the world in there, for some reason.)
Yes!!! And remember how that other shoe store, Dexter's, was right across the street?! Dexter's -n- Dunham's...
Yes! Even as a kid, I thought that was poor planning!
Thanks!
I think my parents took me to Dunham's once. Was it the log cabin-y place on rte. 12, or am I imagining that?
Yeah, I think that's right - as K said, there was Dunham's on one side of route 12, and Dexter's on the other side, and I *think* Dunham's was the log cabin-y one. If memory serves, it was all badass work boots upstairs, and shoes were exiled to the downstairs.
